Maurice R. Beal was a lobsterman and fisherman both before and after he left lighthouse service in 1921. He served briefly at Maine’s Crabtree Ledge Light in 1913 and also spent time assisting his father, Vinal O. Beal, at Seguin Island Lighthouse from 1919 to 1920 before transferring to Mt.
