Photo Caption:

After the tower and lantern were removed from the original LaPointe Lighthouse, the structure was raised atop a new brick first story and made into a duplex for two separate living areas to accommodate an assistant keeper. This is where Bed Hudak lived until 1938 when a new triplex keepers quarters was built next to the 1896 tower. This structure was then abandoned and left to the elements; it is now in ruins.
