Joe Dupras stands at the side of a large painting of Montauk Point Lighthouse that hung in the museum he helped to set up in the historic keepers’ dwelling. The keepers painted and paneled the rooms and constructed the display cases for the artifacts that were loaned to them from other museums and the third Coast Guard district headquarters.
