Another rescue story Ila tells is of men from the Foss Tug Company whose tug also foundered. As Thomas Wyman Albee went out to get them, her mother Ruth (shown here with Wyman at Robinson Point) got up a fresh pot of coffee, stoked the fire, and “prepared a couple of warm wool blankets, hot water bottles, [and] buckets of warm water for the men’s feet. They arrived with clenched teeth and uncontrollable shivers. The Foss Tug Company remembered the keepers each Christmas thereafter with a 5 pound box of Almond Roca.” (Courtesy of Albee Family Archives)
