Veteran Kanahena Light keeper John Andersen fell from a cliff, similar to this one, onto the rocks below somewhere along the trail between Makena Point and Cape Kinau on the Island of Maui.With the rugged terrain being composed of lava rock, it is doubtful he would have survived the fall, even if his wife could have reached him in time to pull him from the surf that carried him through shark infested waters out to sea.
