Landing the boat at Baker’s Island Light in Massachusetts would always be tricky (circa 1946-1951). Richard Crowley, who served with Paul Baptiste at the Hampton Beach Coast Guard station, wrote on the Lighthouse Digest Facebook page, “We didn’t have coxswains back then, but Paul was as good a small boat handler as anybody. Lots of good memories.” (Baptiste Family Collection, Lighthouse Digest archives.)
