Photo Caption:

The Destruction Island Lighthouse keepers oversee the provisions being loaded on the cart that will be transported up the tramway. The keeper on the right closely resembles William Hill, who served at Destruction Island in the 1920s and possibly returned again in the 1930s. He also served at Tillamook Rock Lighthouse during the great storm of 1934. (John Miller Collection, Courtesy of Columbia River Maritime Museum)
