Photo Caption:

Three keepers in front of the fog signal building at California’s San Luis Obispo Light Station. The man on the left is George Watters who replaced William J. Smith as the head keeper in 1920 and served there until 1929. The writing on the back of the photo indicates that the man in the middle is Norm, which leads us to believe that it might be Norris Hilton, who served as a 2nd assistant keeper at the lighthouse from 1923 to 1925. The man on the right was labeled as “Mr. S”, which is believed to be Antonio “Tony” Silva, who served as a 2nd assistant keeper in 1906 and 1st assistant keeper from 1907 to 1933.
