During the course of his 25-year career, Charles R. Monteiro was stationed in Sault St. Marie and Detroit, MI; Duluth, MN; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Washington D.C.; and New Orleans, LA, where he finally retired in 1958 as Chief Engineer in the eighth district with the rank of Captain.
