Photo Caption:

This photo of keepers and others posing with the fog bell was taken during a Sunday afternoon picnic at the Manana Island Fog Signal Station. Seated to the far right are Susie Pierce and her husband, Frank Pierce, the keeper of Manana Fog Signal Station. Willie W. Corbett, the assistant keeper of the Monhegan Island Lighthouse, is seated on the ground in the center. The women seated on the ground to the right of Willie Corbett are Olga Stevens, the daughter of Monhegan Island Lighthouse head keeper Dan Stevens; and Flossie Pierce, daughter of Manana Island Fog Signal Station keeper Frank Pierce. The names of the other two men in suits and the name of the woman sitting on top of the fog bell are not known. If you look closely behind the fog bell, you will see the top of the fog signal tower with the fog horn protruding from the top of the structure. (Photo courtesy of the Monhegan Museum.)
