This photo of Abram Lewis Yates, who is shown here with his wife Harriett, is just one of the many historic photos in the book Sea Girt Lighthouse by Bill Dunn. Abram Lewis Yates was the second person to serve as the keeper of the Sea Girt Lighthouse. He had previously served as the keeper of the Cohansey Lighthouse, also in New Jersey. Abram Lewis Yates had followed in the footsteps of his father who served as lighthouse keeper in the mid-1870s at New Jersey’s famous Barnegat Lighthouse.
