Photo Caption:

Harbor Island Bar Lighthouse in North Carolina where Alonzo James English was once the lighthouse keeper. Years later, his son James Emmett English also became the lighthouse keeper there. Constructed in 1867, this cottage-style screwpile lighthouse no longer stands, and good quality photos of it seem to be non-existent. (U.S. Coast Guard photo, Lighthouse Digest archives.)
