This month's cover photo is of Mississippi's 1848 Biloxi Lighthouse that is featured on one of the new lighthouse postage stamps released in July by the United States Postal Service. The lighthouse has the distinction of having women lighthouse keepers for an amazing total of 81 years, more than any other United States lighthouse. Hurricane Camille destroyed the keeper's house in 1969. In 2005 the lighthouse, although damaged, survived Hurricane Katrina which devastated the surrounding area. A large image of the Gulf Coast Postage stamps released this past July is shown in front of the lighthouse.
